League Notes
MD Vice President

Henry Dubina reminded all Maryland Teams that they MUST have all transactions completed seven (7) days prior to the team's first State Cup game.

Secretary

Mike Sybert stated that Maryland DDP tryouts are ongoing and there are still openings.

Treasurer

No Report.

R & D Director

Bob Emeritz reported that all R & D issues are finished from the Fall 2000 Season. Reminded all teams that have outstanding fines are due my March 30th. Meetings for the Spring 2001 Season will be bi-weekly and will be posted on the web site. If you have questions regarding State Cup eligibility, call either VYSA or MSYSA.

President

Kathie Diapoulis brought to everyone's attention the statement on the contact information page. Kathie stated that the information is not to be distributed to anyone. Kathie told everyone to review the rules carefully.

Referee Uniforms

The referee starter kits were available for pickup after the meeting. If the referees did not sign a promissory note, they do not receive their uniforms. Kathie will take the extra uniforms home with her and when the promissory note is signed the individual may make arrangements to pick the uniform up at Kathie's house.

Even though the response for referees was mediocre, WAGS has at least 25-30 new referees which means we will be able to cover an extra 250-300 Assistant Referee positions this season if they all fulfill their 10 game minimum. A special thanks go out to Celeste who provided 11 new referee names and three re-certifications and reimbursements.

WAGS gave referees a pay increase this season. Your League fees did not increase this season, but are more than likely to next season.

Small Sided Games

NCSL is considering going to small sided games for U-9 through U-12. Kathie stated that this would be something for the Club Reps to take under consideration.

Registrar Meeting

There will be a MANDATORY Registration training session on Saturday, June 23rd. Referees have also been invited to attend to talk about the most misunderstood calls in soccer. The location and time will be announced at a later date.

WUSA

Opening day for the WUSA is April 14th at 2:00pm at RFK Stadium. It is important that we show our support of the women's professional league by filing the stadium. MSYSA has the best deal on tickets. Tickets are $2.00 cheaper if you purchase them through MSYSA. Kathie called VYSA and found they were not able to offer the same deal. WAGS has a link on the web site with the information.

There will be two double headers with the DC United and Freedom teams playing back to back on May 12th and June 30th.

Good of the Game

Congratulation to Joanne Lohman, former BETH Scorpion player, for being selected to the Women's National Team.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
