Meeting Notes

Penalty Points Accumulation – CRFT United U19 D2 – 15 Total and Current Points

Team Members Present: WAGS Club Representative

The WAGS Club Representative informed the Committee that the team wanted to register for the fall season, but he denied the request.  He finalized his statement by saying that the Club takes this hearing very seriously and he regrets that there was a lack of representation by the team.

The Committee thanked the WAGS Club Representatives for attending the hearing. Fifteen penalty points in one season is a significant accumulation, a very serious matter which the Committee will not tolerate. Furthermore and foremost, the Committee feels extremely disappointed and most disturbed that neither coaches nor players attended the hearing. The Committee would have seen proper that the Head Coach and the Assistant Coach as well as the players that received Penalty Points were in attendance regardless of their personal future plans.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

The Head Coach and the Assistant Coach are suspended for the next three ( 3 ) WAGS games should either individual opt to coach a team affiliated with WAGS in the future.

The CRFT United U19 D2 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – FREE X-Treme U17 D3 – 12 Total Points ( 8 Current + 4 Carry Over )

Team Members Present: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, FREE Club Board Member, Players, Parent.

The Head Coach began by introducing herself as the new head coach for the FREE X-Treme.  She apologized for the penalty points that were accumulated.  Each player took full responsibility for their actions as well as the Assistant Coach.  The team’s plan of action was presented for future penalty points, which included a signed Code of Conduct.

The Committee appreciated and thanked the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, FREE Club Board Member, players and parents for attending.  The Committee felt after hearing testimony from everyone present,  that the Head Coach had a positive “grip” on this team and her presence as a role model was undeniable.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

The FREE X-Treme U17 D3 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – LAUR Comets U15 D2- 23 Total Points ( 20 Current + 3 Carry Over )

Team Members Present – Manager, WAGS Club Representative, Player, Parent

The Manager started the hearing by reading a statement which included a brief history of the team, as well as an explanation for some of the cards received during a particular game.

The Committee feels that twenty three penalty points in one season is a significant accumulation, a very serious matter which the Committee will not tolerate. Furthermore and foremost, the Committee feels extremely disappointed and most disturbed that neither coaches nor players with the exception of one player attended the hearing. The Committee would have seen proper that the Head Coach and the Assistant Coach as well as the players that received Penalty Points were in attendance.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

Player # 12 must sit out the next WAGS game.  Please remember that a sit-out form needs to be filled out and mailed to the WAGSL R&D Director for each game a player sits out.

The LAUR Comets will be denied the privilege of having home games for next season.

The LAUR Comets are assessed a fee equal to a full WAGSL league fee. The check must be received by the WAGSL R&D Director no later than August 10th, 2005. If the fee is not paid, all LAUR teams affiliated with WAGS and participating in the Fall 2005 season will be denied the privilege of having home games for next season.

The LAUR Comets U15 D2 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – SEVP Phoenix U15 D3 – 15 Total Points ( 10 Current + 5 Current )

Team Members Present: Head Coach, Assistant Coach

The Head Coach started off by explaining his card.   He also informed the Committee that he did not attend the PCA course in February to comply with a sanction from a previous WAGS R & D hearing.

The Committee commends and thanks the Head Coach and Assistant Coach for attending the hearing and being forthcoming during the explanation of the Penalty Point accumulation, however, the Committee would have seen proper that player # 23 was in attendance to discuss her Penalty Points.  Furthermore, the Committee firmly believes that coaches and players must understand that we live in an imperfect world, and field play will often be viewed differently by opposing players, parents, and coaches / team officials. However, judgments by the referee and their assistants must be respected and unquestioned except in the case of misapplication of the Laws of the Game.  And in that event, there are specific and appropriate actions that should be taken.

The Committee hopes that the SEVP Phoenix apply every possible effort to make sure they do not have to appear before the WAGS R&D Committee yet again.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

The Head Coach to Attend the APositive Coaching Alliance@ Course. This sanction is owed from the November 24, 2004 WAGS R&D Hearing.  Proof of attendance must be mailed to the WAGS R&D Director.

The Head Coach is to pay the fine established on their own Code of Conduct based on the card he received.

The SEVP Phoenix U15 D3 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – PSC Heat – 13 Total Points ( 8 Current + 5 Current )

Team Members Present: No One

The Committee is extremely disappointed that no member of the PSC Heat team nor PSC Club attended the hearing. The Committee would have seen proper that the Head Coach and the Assistant Coach, as well as the players that received Penalty Points, were in attendance regardless of their personal future plans.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

The PSC Heat is assessed a fee equal to one half of a WAGSL league fee. The check must be received by the WAGSL R&D Director no later than August 10th, 2005. If the fee is not paid, all PSC teams affiliated with WAGS and participating in the Fall 2005 season will be denied the privilege of having home games for next season.
