Meeting Notes

Penalty Points Accumulation – Arlington Eclipse U19 D1 – 13 Total Penalty Points ( 9 Current + 4 Carry Over )

Team Members Present: ARL WAGS Club Representative

The WAGS Club Representative stated that to his knowledge the Head Coach was out of town, and that the majority of the players were on “Beach Week”, and that the Head Coach had accepted a position to coach a younger division team within the same club.

The Committee thanked the WAGS Club Representative for attending, nonetheless, the Committee feels extremely disappointed and most disturbed no one represented the team at the hearing. The Committee would have seen proper that the at the very least either the Head Coach, Manager, the Assistant Coach be in attendance. The Committee also noted that the Head Coach has created a pattern and has established a history for receiving Penalty Points. All of the points related to either dissent or OAIL.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

The ARL Eclipse Head Coach is suspended for the next three ( 3 ) WAGS games should he opt to coach a team affiliated with WAGS in the future. Please remember that a sit-out form needs to be filled out and mailed to the WAGSL R&D Director for each game a player / coach sits out.

The ARL Eclipse Head Coach must attend the next Positive Coaching Alliance ( PCA ) course. This course is offered by WAGS and NCSL. Either one will suffice this sanction. Proof of attendance must be mailed to the WAGS R&D Director. Should the Head Coach fail to attend the next scheduled PCA, the suspension will extend for 2 ( two ) more games for a total of 5 ( five ), and he will still be required to attend the above mentioned course.

The ARL Eclipse U19 D1 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – Arlington Extreme U19 D1 – 13 Total and Current Penalty Points

Team Members Present: Head Coach / ARL WAGS Club Representative

The Head Coach / WAGS Club Representative explained the team situation and each of the cards his team received. He added that he took full responsibility for the cards and that his team did not have a history of receiving cards or coming before the R & D Committee. He apologized for having accumulated 13 points and it was his hopes that he will prevent it from reoccurring.

The Committee thanked the Head Coach / WAGS Club Representative for attending, nonetheless, the Committee would have seen proper that the players that received Penalty Points were in attendance to explained their cards.

After deliberation, the Committee decided to consider the attendance and discussions during the WAGS R&D Hearing as the only sanction for the amount of Penalty Points the ARL Extreme accumulated during the Spring 2005 season.

The ARL Extreme U19 D1 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – MCLN MPS Netforce U15 D1 – 10 Total and Current Points (All Points accumulated by Player # 6)

Team Members Present – Head Coach, Assistant Coach

The Assistant Coach explained player # 6’s situation, stating that she was learning to be a student of the game and plays very aggressively. The coach also stated that player #6’s technique is improving. She also said that player #6 comes out of the game whenever she receives a card, and that both coaches talk to her about it.

The Committee thanked the Head Coach and Assistant Coach for attending, nonetheless, in lieu of the extremely high amount of penalty points player # 6 received during this season, the Committee feels very disappointed and disturbed that the above mentioned player was not present at the hearing. The Committee would have seen proper that player # 6 was in attendance to account and explain the penalty points she accumulated. Both coaches openly stated that they were not familiar with the WAGS Rules as it relates to Penalty Point Accumulation. It was also stated that since both Coaches are typically not present together at all games, they were unaware player # 6 had accumulated so many points.

After deliberation, the Committee directs the following:

Based on Rule N.1.C.2, player # 6 is suspended for the next three ( 3 ) WAGS games. Please remember that a sit-out form needs to be filled out and mailed to the WAGSL R&D Director for each game a player / coach sits out.

The MCLN Netforce U15 D1 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation - MCLN MPS United U15 D2 - 14 Total and Current Points

Team Members Present – Head Coach, Manager, Players, Parents.

The Head Coach started out by saying that he does not condone receiving cards, and felt that it was proper to let the players present explain their cards.

All players present explained their cards and took full responsibility. Some players gave examples as to how they were going to prevent future penalty point accumulation.

The Committee thanks the Head Coach, Manager, players and parents for attending the hearing. Fourteen points in one season is a considerable amount of penalty points. Coaches, players and parents must understand that we live in an imperfect world, and field play will often be viewed differently by opposing players, parents, and coaches / team officials. However, judgments by the referee and their assistants must be respected and unquestioned except in the case of misapplication of the Laws of the Game. And in that event, there are specific and appropriate actions that should be taken.

After deliberation, the Committee decided that a Letter of Censure would be the only sanction for the MCLN United U15/D2 and that they will be carrying over ˝ of their accumulated points.

The MCLN United U15 D2 were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.
