CALV United U16 D4 – 18 Current Penalty Points.

CALV United Team Members Present: Head Coach, Players ( 2 ), Parents.

The R&D Director welcomed the CALV United and explained how the hearing was going to take place. Members of the CALV United and the R&D Committee introduced themselves, ending with the R&D Director clarifying to the CALV United that she will not have a vote on the Committee’s decision.

The HC started his testimony by reading a 3-page statement which included a lengthy detail of his background, and his plan of action to remedy the current situation.  He also provided written statements from players who received yellow and red cards not present at the hearing.

Both players present explained each of their cards.

A Committee member suggested to the HC that the team should bring a referee to a practice to oversee the overall behavior of the players in action.

The R&D Director stated that, based on the written and oral statements heard, none of the players that accumulated penalty points owned their mistakes and therefore, did not take responsibility for their actions.

The Committee appreciated and thanked all members of the CALV United for attending the hearing, however, they were reminded that 18 penalty points in one season is a very serious offense.

During deliberations the Committee kept in consideration that this team had no prior penalty point history, therefore it decided the following:

A Code of Conduct signed by all players must be submitted to the WAGS R&D Director no later than July 31, 2007.

The CALV United were also notified that they will be carrying over 9 penalty points to the next WAGS season the team registers to participate.

In closing the R & D Director thanked the CALV United for attending and informed them that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.
