WAGS R & D Committee Meeting

Committee Members Present: Lula Bauer ( Director ), Clarence Jones, Karen Parker, Mike Sullivan

Meeting Notes

 

Penalty Points Accumulation –SYC Galaxy U16 D1 - 15 Total Penalty Points ( 8 Current + 7 Carry Over )

Team Members Present: Manager, Treasurer.

 

The Head Coach and Assistant Coach could not attend the hearing because they were both overseas as part of the US Armed Forces.  The Manager brought in a statement e-mailed by the Head Coach, nonetheless she mentioned that she was not familiar at all with the details of each card received by the players.

 

In lieu of this particular situation, the Committee decided that it would be for the best interest of both parties to reschedule the hearing to a future date.  Nevertheless, the Committee would have seen appropriate that the players who received cards were present to explain to the Committee their behavior on the field.

 

DECISION:

 

      With a unanimous vote the Committee agrees to:

 

        1.        Reschedule the Hearing to a Future Date.

Penalty Points Accumulation – STAF Cyclone U18 D1 - 13 Total Current Penalty Points.

Team Members Present: Head Coach, Assistant Coach.

 

                The Head Coach testified that he has been with the team for four years and that this was the first time in front of the Committee.  He added that he felt embarrassed for having to come to this hearing, and that this situation is non-characteristic of his team.  He continued by describing the circumstances for each individual card received, pointing out that one of those players is no longer with the team.

 

                He ended his dialogue by stating that he will implement a plan where a player receiving a Red Card will sit an additional game besides the one dictated by WAGS, and that profanity will not be allowed during practice.

 

                The Committee  appreciated and thanked both members of the STAF Cyclone for being forthcoming with their Penalty Points explanation, nonetheless the Committee would have seen appropriate that the players who received cards were present to explain their behavior on the field

 

DECISION:

 

                The Committee decided the following:

 

                1.     Oral Censure.

 

                The STAF Cyclone were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – SYC Galaxy U13  D1 - 12 Total Penalty Points ( 9 Current + 3 Carry Over ).

Team Members Present: Head Coach, Manager, WAGS Club Rep, Players, Parents.

 

                The Head Coach stated that he was embarrassed for having to be in front of the Committee. He continued by explaining both the cards he received, and ended up by mentioning that when he sees that one of his players is “getting out of line”, he pulls them out of the game.

 

                All players present explained the circumstances under which they received cards.

 

                The Committee  appreciated and thanked all the members of the SYC Galaxy for attending and being forthcoming with their Penalty Points explanation.

 

DECISION:

 

                The Committee decided the following:

 

1.        Written Letter of Censure.

2.        For the Spring 2005 season, the SYC Galaxy U13/D1 Head Coach will sit out a game if he receives a Yellow Card, and 2 games if he receives a Red Card.

 

                The SYC Galaxy were informed that they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGS R & D Committee according to Rule O, “Protests and Appeals Procedures”.

Penalty Points Accumulation – SYC Sting U18  D1 - 16 Total Current Penalty Points.

Team Members Present: Head Coach,  WAGS Club Rep, Player, Parent.

 

                The Head Coach started off by explaining both the cards he received. He added that the cards received by his players were in the most part “silly cards”. He ended his comments by stating that he has implemented a plan where a player will sit out a considerable amount of time as soon as the player receives two cards.

 

                The Committee appreciated and thanked all the members of the SYC Sting for attending the hearing, nonetheless the Committee would have seen appropriate that the players who received cards were present to explain their behavior on the field.

 

DECISION:

 

                The Committee decided the following:

 

1.       Written Letter of Censure.
